Sunergy System’s Hurricane Sandy Solar Relief Fund

November 19, 2012

The devastation of Hurricane Sandy has evoked a serious wake up call to cities along the East Coast at risk of extreme weather conditions as a direct result of climate change. Renewable energy has been at the forefront in the battle against climate change and storms like Hurricane Sandy remind us of the urgency to turn towards renewable resources such as solar energy.

The impact of Hurricane Sandy hits home with many of us at Sunergy Systems, as Jon’s and Pogo’s family and friends over on the East Coast that have been struck by the devastation. Chris Herman has just been called over to the East Coast by FEMA to help. We at Sunergy Systems want to do everything we can to help in relief efforts, so in collaboration with Community Energy Solutions, have formed a coalition of other solar leaders to form a Solar Relief Fund.

The Solar Relief Fund was set up to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy along with raising Solar Awareness. The fund will donate anywhere from $350 – $800 for every solar system purchased from Sunergy Systems by 12/31/2012.

Sunergy System is donating $150 for every solar energy system purchased,Itek Energy is donating approximately $500 per Itek system purchased as part of the Go Solar Seattle Northwest program,Silicon Energy is donating $150 for every Silicon Energy system purchased through the Go Solar Seattle Northwest program,SunPower is donating $150 for every SunPower system purchased thru Sunergy Systems, SunModo is donating $50 thru $150 for every system purchased thru Sunergy System, SolarWorld…. I’m still working on them.

The goal is to raise $20,000 by December 31st, 2012 and we need your help!

Tammy Deets of Community Energy Solutions, the non-profit organization leading the Solar Relief Fund, is overwhelmed by the generosity and compassion of these leaders in Washington State Solar Industry. “It shouldn’t be surprising that those in the solar industry recognizes the seriousness of climate change and how it is having a direct impact on people’s lives. Solar energy is not only a long term solution to stem climate change, by what we are doing through this campaign, it is also providing immediate help to those affected by its consequences”

Please help us spread the word about the Solar Relief Fund and solar energy! Accepting donations from the general public by visiting
